DALLAS – In a sale which offers everything from an early Meissen tankard (and several latter pieces of Meissen monkey figures), to an antique J. Erat gilt harp, to an Audubon “Song Sparrow” engraving with aquatint by Robert Havell, the one constant throughout, according to Auctioneer Jerry Holley from Dallas Auction Gallery, is quality. The Sept. 26 sale, which begins at 6 p.m., also features a large amount of silver, including a large grouping of Reed & Barton Francis I sterling silver. Among that selection of silver, is a 193-piece flatware set and a 154-piece flatware set, a set of eight dinner plates, large sterling silver serving tray with bowls and compotes. Also selling with a set of 12 Buccellati sterling silver brandy snifters, a 191-piece Reed & Barton Hepplewhite sterling flatware, in addition to a large (142 troy ounces) elaborately-decorated Reed & Barton sterling silver punch bowl. In addition to the early Meissen tankard is a 126-piece Herend “Rothschild Bird” pattern dinner service, a set of six Royal Crown Derby cabinet plates and a set of 11 Meissen cabinet plates. From one estate is an elaborate 9-foot, 12-panel Chinese coromandel folding screen, a large carved rosewood Chinese altar table, Chinese porcelains, jade plaques, scrolls, furniture, needleworks and additional art. A selection of antique Swedish Gustavian furniture will be offered, including a secretary bookcase with original paint, a large step-back cupboard with original paint, a set of six cabriole-leg dining chairs with painted finish and two antique Mora tall case clocks with painted finishes.
