200 years of being a ‘right jolly old elf’ |

There’s nothing like the Christmas spirit to bring out the best in a doting grandfather. And so it was in 1822, when a respected professor at a New York seminary put pen to paper and wrote a fanciful poem for his grandchildren. At a holiday gathering, the eldest daughter of the guest of honor requested a copy of his poem for her personal album. |
